International Graduate School on Control (IGSC)

28 March 2023 to 31 March 2023
Classroom 2, Complesso di San Francesco

The EECI (European Embedded Control Institute) is a French association founded in 2006 in the framework of the HYCON network of excellence (FP6-IST-511368), a project of the European Community funded from September 2004 to September 2008. The Institute works through the volunteering of its members and provides a legal framework for the Knowledge Community of Networked and Embedded Control. In the future, this reality aims to become a world-renowned focal point for the development of collaborative research (multinational and multidisciplinary) on networked and integrated control, to break down the barriers between traditional disciplines, to disseminate associated methods and tools, to organize the education of students and researchers and to transfer the methodologies to industry.

Since the creation of EECI, the IGSC (International Graduate School on Control) Program has been organized every year, inviting the best experts to teach recognized topical subjects in esteemed universities and institutes worldwide.
The scientific aim of IGSC is to complete the training in the multidisciplinary field of systems & control, offering complementary and essential education for Ph.D. students, Post-docs, young (or less young) researchers, and engineers.
IGSC Program includes independent modules on different topics of networked and embedded control; each module lasts 21 hours per week. These modules are eligible for 2nd Year Master Degree credits and Scientific Thesis modules. Successful completion of a module upon evaluation obtains the equivalence of 3 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) max.

More information regarding the scheduled modules can be found here.

This year the program also involves our School, which will host the course of Module 8 titled "Hybrid Control Systems", held by Ricardo Sanfelice, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California, Santa Cruz

The course will be held in Classroom 2 at the IMT School Campus, inside the Complesso di San Francesco, in Piazza San Francesco 19 - 55100 Lucca.
