Open Lab
The Open Lab is a laboratory used for multidisciplinary research ranging from neuroscience, to social science and economics.
The lab has the following devices and equipment at its disposal:
- A LiveTrack Lightning system to perform pupillometry and record eye movements. This system can be synchronised with the electroencephalogram.
- Two soundproof booths (Boxy and B-ear)with equipment for conducting cognitive-behavioral experiments to record central and peripheral physiological parameters such as electroencephalogram, electrocardiogram, electrooculogram, electromyogram and respiratory activity. Each booth is equipped with a computer optimised for the presentation of visual, tactile and auditory sensory stimuli.(thanks to Bose audio headphones), and for the collection of behavioral responses
- Wearable eye tracker, stress bracelet and electroencephalogram.
The Open Lab also represents a research infrastructure – echoing the name of the multidisciplinary laboratory – created with the intention of fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors within the Economic and Digital Resilience (RED) project, thanks to which the IMT School was recognised as a Department of Excellence from 2023-2027. In this second capacity, the Open Lab promotes translational research in collaboration with external parties interested in testing innovative solutions in its operational areas.
