The Junior Faculty of the IMT School includes Assistant Professors and Post-Doctoral Fellows, researchers pursuing advanced studies within Campus premises. The IMT School is a dynamic center giving young researchers the possibility to work closely with each other as well as with graduate students and senior researchers. As Junior Faculty is regarded as the School's most important investment, its members are required to perform a limited load of teaching activities within the PhD programs and supervision/mentoring of PhD students, as well as to contribute to the development of the School’s research topics.
The remuneration package is competitive at an international level and includes generous research funds. The IMT School is committed to providing adequate resources to support the research activity of its faculty, as well as flexible working conditions.
Furthermore, the School recognizes "the value of geographical, intersectional, inter− and trans−disciplinary and virtual mobility as an important means of enhancing scientific knowledge and professional development at any stage of a researcher's career" (European Charter for Researchers, Ref. Value of mobility). Therefore, it acknowledges any past mobility experience, encourages mobility at all levels and supports research and projects on interdisciplinary topics and collaborations at an international level.
The IMT School has also signed the "Commitment of Quality Assurance" for the EURAXESS Researcher's mobility portal.
The School's procedures are in compliance with the European Commission recommendations proposed in the European Charter for Researchers and in the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. In particular, the School ensures that researchers will not be discriminated against on the basis of gender, age, ethnic, national or social origin, religion or belief, sexual orientation, language, disability, political opinion, or social and/or economic conditions.
Broad dissemination of information about the openings guarantees that any candidate in any part of the world can compete for the position offered. Selection procedure conditions are transparent and are based on international standards.
