Job description: The Tuscan Universities Liaison Office is looking for a Senior EU Public Affairs Manager-Project Coordinator with a +5 years' experience in EU policies, public relations with a particular focus on Research&Innovation EU projects. The EU Public Affairs Manager-Project Coordinator key activities include building networks and fostering relations between Tuscan Universities, EU Institutions and other key actors, such as other EU Universities or Regional partners. He/She will gain maximum benefit from H2020 and FP9 to secure funding and support for Tuscan Universities. Main tasks: The EU public affairs manager will represent Tuscan Universities at EU level, promote and define a common research path for the Tuscan universities in line with EU policies and in coordination with the Tuscan Regional Liaison Office. He/she will build and maintain relationships with key EU stakeholders and other relevant partners (i.e. EU Institutions, agencies, EU Universities and Research Institutions) and implement with them common research projects by creating a mechanism that will promote partnership and stimulate joint research proposals. The selected candidate will constantly monitor and follow up the development of key EU regulatory policies on Research & Innovation (i.e. H2020, FP9) and will build opportunities for the Tuscan research system by monitoring EU calls and other relevant initiatives at EU level. He/she will also facilitate coordination among the Universities and between the Universities and the Region of Tuscany and other stakeholders (i.e. business, clusters) in line with the Regional Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) and the new priorities of FP9. Main Job Requirements: Applicants should have at least University MA degree, proven experience (over 5 years) in EU affairs, particularly EU legislation and funding programs related to R&I, excellent knowledge of the EU Institutions and good network of contacts in the Brussels arena. He/She should also be a good team leader with strong communication skills and self-starter abilities, quality and result oriented and willing to work in an international environment. A good knowledge of the Italian or the Tuscan University System is an asset. The candidate should be able to work fluently in Italian and English and be flexible to travel monthly between Tuscany and Brussels.
