I am an Assistant Professor in Applied Economics at IMT Lucca and a member of the AXES research unit. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics (Labour, Development, and Innovation) obtained in March 2020 from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and from 2020 to 2023, I held the position of post-doctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki.
My research focuses on applied microeconomics and sits at the intersection between political economy, labour economics, and the economics of innovation and digital platforms. I study these topics using the toolsets of quasi-experimental inference, making creative use of the data sources available. I am used to working with surveys and administrative data sources and, over time, have gained experience in survey design and methodology, web scraping, and text mining.
I am currently teaching Introduction to Macroeconomics to students at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. I also have teaching experience in Causal Inference and Economic Statistics and have supervised Master’s students in political economy.
