Profile

 

The AXES research unit is looking for a full-time Research Collaborator in the area of Management Science, with a focus on SMEs and family businesses. The ideal candidates are researchers with strong foundations in the fields of management science, strategy and business administration, with particular regard to SMEs. Previous experience or the willingness to carry out research in the field of family businesses is considered a plus, as well as research experience in the themes of Corporate Social Responsibility/sustainability. Skills related to data collection and analysis (qualitative and quantitative) are essential. Previous experiences in conducting interdisciplinary research is considered a plus, as well as familiarity with statistical packages (e.g., Stata, R), programming tools (e.g., Python, Matlab) and qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo). Candidates should have strong communication skills, a demonstrated capacity or potential for high-quality research, and a team-oriented attitude. Above all, we are seeking a highly passionate, committed and collaborative candidate.

Activity

 

The successful candidate will contribute to develop academic research to be published in international peer reviewed journals focusing on management science, strategy and business administration, with a specific focus on SMEs and family businesses. Responsibilities of the candidate will include project management activities, literature scoping, data collection and analysis, writing of peer-reviewed publications. The successful candidate is expected to plan and manage his/her own research activity, working in collaboration with the colleagues of the research group and contribute to the planning and development of research projects. He/she will be responsible for delivering excellent academic research outputs, including papers for submission to international peer reviewed journals and papers for presentation at conferences and workshops. The candidate is expected to participate actively in the activities of the unit AXES (e.g., seminars, workshops, presentations to academic and non-academic audiences).

Formal requirements

 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field in management, business administration or a closely related field from a recognized institution;
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

 

Specific requirements

  • PhD in Business administration and mananagement, or related fields will be considered as a preferential title;
  • The candidate must have the professional background to work in a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary team;
  • Conduct research consistent with the interests of AXES faculty members.
Gross amount

 € 20.265,00/year

Duration

1 year, renewable 

Any extensions are subject to the continuation of financing, in the specific case of funds from external financing, together with the verification of the activities carried out by the research fellow, in particular the drafting of articles, participation in seminars, workshops, collaboration with colleagues in the research group, contribution to the planning and development of research projects.
