Cognitive Neuroscience, Social Neuroscience, Behavioral Sciences

1 Research Collaborator position
(Deadline July 8th, 2019 12:00 )

Prosociality, Cognitive and Social Neuroscience, Behavioral Sciences, Blood and Plasma Donation

Participation in the activities of the Research Project “Prosociality, Cognition and Peer Effects” (PRO.CO.P.E.) related to the investigation of the behavioral and neural correlates of prosocial behavior, and in particular on the psychological profiling of blood and plasma donors to determine the relationship between the mode of cognition, the structure of social interactions with peers and the likelihood of this specific (i.e., plasma and blood donation) prosocial behavior.
The research project will engage different methodological approaches ranging from social sciences to behavioral data processing and psychometric evaluations to assess donors profiling. The opportunity to apply psychological models to the plasma donation practices might foster a deeper comprehension of the peculiarity of individual motivation towards plasma donation. In particular, the RC should also draw from the AVIS database on blood and plasma donors to construct an integrated dataset where prosociality is measured by blood and plasma donation as well as other behavioral and neuroscientific measures obtained from laboratory experiments. Moreover, we aim at enriching the dataset with information regarding the structure of social interactions.
