Alberto Guiggiani

Bio

I was born in Florence, Italy in 1985. I received the Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florence in 2008. In 2011 I received the Master in Automation Engineering from the same University. During Master studies I moved for one term to the University of Lancaster (UK), and for one term to the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa, where I worked on my thesis. After a period as collaborator for National Research Council of Italy, in 2012 I started my PhD studies in Computer Science and Engineering program at IMT Lucca, working within the Dynamical Systems, Control and Optimization research unit. Since late 2012 I was actively involved in the coordination of Workpackage 6 for the HYCON2 European Project.

In January 2014 I moved to Michigan, USA, and started research projects with the Aerospace Engineering department of University of Michigan, and with the Research and Innovation Center of Ford Motor Company.

Projects

HYCON2 Matlab Toolbox

A unified environment developed within the HYCON2 European Network of Excellence to promote and integrate MATLAB toolboxes for networked control design.

Realtime Suite

Realtime Suite aims to provide all the tools and guides needed to set up a Linux-RTAI real-time machine within a CACSD environment. This is addressed in particular to researchers and students approaching the world of real-time control applications for the first time, or people searching for an open-source alternative to commercial solutions. ~1700 downloads as of March 2014.

Manuale di Automazione

Manual (in Italian language) with the transcription of the lecture notes from classes in Automation Engineering held in the University of Florence. Covers many control theory and applications topics, including system modeling and identification, stability analysis, control systems synthesis, laboratories, and more.
