I candidati ideali sono ricercatori con un background in teoria delle reti, analisi statistica esplorativa ed economia sanitaria. Esperienze pregresse in ambito interdisciplinare è considerato un plus. Si richiede che il candidato abbia familiarità con i principali pacchetti statistici (Stata, R) e linguaggi di programmazione (Python, Matlab), noché l'analisi dati qualitativa. I candidati devono avere forti doti comunicative, una spiccata capacità per la ricerca di alta qualità e attitudine a lavoro di gruppo. In particolare, si cercano candidati fortemente motivati e collaborativi.
The IMT School invites applications for a full-time research fellowship for a AXES research unit in the area of complex networks, patent citations and innovations. The ideal candidates are researchers with a background in network theory and statistical explorative analysis. Previous experiences in conducting interdisciplinary research is considered a plus. The candidate is expected to be familiar with statistical packages (e.g., Stata, R), programming tools (e.g., Python, Matlab) and qualitative data analysis. Candidates should have strong communication skills, a demonstrated capacity or potential for high-quality research, and a team-oriented attitude. Above all, we are seeking a highly passionate, committed and collaborative candidate.
Il/La candidato/a selezionato lavorerà all'interno del progetto PRIN "The Role of the Public and Private Sectors in Pharmaceutical Breakthrough Innovations" che mira a fornire una nuova comprensione dei fattori determinanti del successo commerciale di innovazioni radicali mediante (i) metodi robusti di econometria e (ii) la teoria dei grafi applicata alle reti di citazioni tra brevetti per identificare la rilevanza di fattori rilevanti come il ruolo del settore pubblico e privato, le condizioni della domanda, i protagonisti principali. Il candidato selezionato sarà principalmente coinvolto nello sviluppo del punto (ii) del progetto, analizzando in modo approfondito la struttura della rete di citazione dei brevetti e la sua evoluzione temporale, con particolare attenzione al ruolo giocato dai settori pubblico e privato.
The selected candidate will work within the PRIN project "The Role of the Public and Private Sectors in Pharmaceutical Breakthrough Innovations " that aims at providing novel insights on the determinants of the commercial success of some of the breaktrhough innovations thoruhgout (i) robust econometric methods and (ii) network theory approaches applied to the network of patent citations in order to investigate the relevance of factors such as the role of the public and private sectors, the demand conditions, the main subjects. The selected candidate will be mainly involved in the development of the point (ii) of the project deeply investigating the structure of the patent citations network and its over time evolution with particular attention to the role of private and public sectors.
- Master Degree in Economics, Statistics, Physics or related fields;
- A curriculum with a suitable scientific background for carrying out research activity;
- Excellent knowledge of both spoken and written English;
Specific requirements:
Knowledge of Matlab or Python.
