Emanuele Pellegrini

 

Emanuele Pellegrini is Associate Professor in Art History and Coordinator of the PhD program in Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage at IMT Institute for Advanced Studies, Lucca (Italy). After graduating cum laude, he got his PhD at the University of Pisa. He has been postdoc at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, researcher at the University of Udine and at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. He has been a Chercheur Invité at INHA (Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art), Paris (2015), and he is visiting professor at Renmin University Beijing (since 2014).

Together with Gerardo de Simone he is the director of the international peer reviewed magazine “Predella. Rivista di storia delle arti” (http://predella. it), published both on line (since 2001) and on paper (since 2010); he is founder and permanent member of the steering committee of the web site patrimoniosos (www.patrimoniosos.it, founded in 2002).

His research interests focus on art theory (eighteenth-twentieth century), on the history of collecting and preservation of cultural heritage and the related problems of management of cultural heritage and on the relationship between art history and information technology.
