Del Vicario

My name is Michela Del Vicario and I am a Post-Doctoral Fellow at IMT Lucca and a fellow member of the Laboratory of Computational Social Science (CSSLab), under Networks research unit.

My current research at IMT focuses on complex networks, and in particular on the anlysis  and modelling of information diffusion and opinion dynamics on online social network.

I received my Ph.D. in Computer, Decision, and System Science at IMT Lucca in 2016, with the thesis "The Role of Confirmation Bias in the Emergence of Echo Chambers: A Data-driven Approach", under the supervision of provessor Guido Caldarelli and Dr. Walter Quattrociocchi. I studied Mathematics at the University of Rome La Sapienza where I recieved my M.Sc. in 2013. My degree thesis was carried out under the supervision of Professor Giovanni Sebastiani with the title “Thoretical properties of preferential attachment graphs”.
