Development of edge computing tools for robotic platforms in precision agriculture

La Scuola IMT invita a candidarsi per una posizione di collaboratore/collaboratrice di ricerca relativa all'analisi e allo sviluppo di metodi di edge computing ottimizzati nell'ambito operativo delle attività di agricoltura di precisione. IMT Lucca cerca un/a Assegnista di Ricerca motivato/a ed entusiasta che si unisca all'attività di ricerca di IMT Lucca nell'ambito del progetto ROBOFARM. Il/la candidato/a deve possedere un'attitudine alla ricerca interdisciplinare, che integri conoscenze relative alla sensoristica, alla robotica, all'agricoltura di precisione, all'apprendimento automatico e alla programmazione informatica. La posizione ha la durata di due anni.

IMT Lucca invites applications for a Research Fellow position relating to the analysis and development of optimized edge computing methods in the operational context of precision agriculture activities. IMT Lucca is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Research Fellow to join IMT Lucca's research activity as part of the ROBOFARM project. The candidate must possess an aptitude for cross-disciplinary research, which integrates knowledge relating to sensors, robotics, precision agriculture, machine learning and computer programming. The position lasts two years.

• Master Degree: Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Control Engineering, Data Science, Physics, Robotics, Statistics, or other fields related to the topic of the research;
• Excellent knowledge of both spoken and written English;
• Upon the date of the application submission the candidate's age must be below 36 years;

Specific requirements:

The candidate must have a professional background to work in a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary team; preferrable but not necessary are a prior experience in the analysis of sensor data management and edge computing optimization methods.

A Ph.D. title in a topic related to the project is also a preferential requisite, but is not necessary.
