La candidata/il candidato sarà inquadrata/o come assegnista di ricerca del progetto " 'Fotografiste:' Women in Photography in Italian Archives, 1839-1939" (PRIN: PROGETTI DI RICERCA DI RILEVANTE INTERESSE NAZIONALE –Bando 2022 PNRR Prot. P2022TR5BH). Il progetto si propone di dare visibilità alle donne attive nel settore fotografico nei primi cento anni di storia della fotografia, ricercando le loro identità e le loro storie attraverso l'analisi di archivi fotografici italiani selezionati e scarsamente accessibili.
La ricerca si svolgerà all'interno dell'Unità di ricerca LYNX Center for the Interdisciplinary Analysis of Images, Contexts, Cultural Heritage.
L’assegnista dovrà dimostrare ottima conoscenza dei principali metodi di analisi storico-economici delle carriere e dei contesti lavorativi in particolare di ambito culturale e artistico, a partire da una approfondita esperienza nella costruzione e gestione di database complessi.
L’assegnista dovrà dimostrare ottima conoscenza della lingua inglese sia scritta sia parlata.
Per esigenze di progetto saranno considerati requisiti preferenziali:
a. La conoscenza delle principali metodologie di ricerca derivate dai Gender and Feminist Studies;
b. Esperienze pregresse nell’applicazione della Network Analysis, in particolare in ambito sociale e/o artistico-culturale;
c. Esperienza pregresse e capacità di lavorare in gruppi interdisciplinari e multidisciplinari.
The candidate will be employed as a research fcollaborator in the project " 'Fotografiste:' Women in Photography in Italian Archives, 1839-1939" (PRIN: PROGETTI DI RICERCA DI RILEVANTE INTERESSE NAZIONALE –Bando 2022 PNRR Prot. P2022TR5BH). This project is aimed at giving visibility to women in photography during the first one hundred years of photographic history by retrieving their identities and stories from selected and scarcely accessible Italian photographic archives.
The research will be carried out within the research unit LYNX Center for the Interdisciplinary Analysis of Images, Contexts, Cultural Heritage.
The candidate will have to demonstrate excellent knowledge of the main methods of historical-economic analysis of careers and work contexts in particular in the cultural and artistic fields, with in-depth experience in the construction and management of complex databases.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English.
For project exigencies, the following will be considered preferential requirements:
a. Extensive knowledge of the main research methodologies derived from Gender and Feminist Studies;
- Costruzione e implementazione di database dedicato alla presenza delle donne nel settore fotografico nel periodo preso in analisi dal progetto (1839-1939);
- Proposta di una tassonomia delle diverse professioni e tipologie di carriere che hanno riguardato le donne nel settore fotografico nel periodo preso in analisi dal progetto (1839-1939)
- Attività di interfaccia con il team che si occuperà di Network Analysis e Deep Learning;
- Attività di interfaccia con il team che si occuperà della ricerca archivistica
- Progettazione e realizzazione di percorsi di public engagement;
- Creazione dei contenuti per il sito del progetto;
- Attività di pubblicazione inerente ai temi del bando in oggetto;
- Partecipazione e/o organizzazione di conferenze, seminari, workshop inerenti ai temi del bando in oggetto.
- Construction and implementation of a database dedicated to the presence of women in the photographic sector during the period analysed by the project (1839-1939);
- Proposal of a taxonomy of the different professions and types of careers involving women in the photographic sector in the period analysed by the project (1839-1939)
- Interface activity with the team dealing with Network Analysis and Deep Learning;- Interface activities with the team that will deal with archival research
- Design and implementation of public engagement paths;- Creation of content for the project website;
- Publication activities related to the themes of the call;
- Participation and/or organisation of conferences, seminars, workshops related to the themes of the call.
- PhD or equivalent foreign qualification in subjects related to the subject of the call for applications;
- Suitable scientific curriculum for conducting research activities;
- Excellent knowledge of both spoken and written English;
Specific requirements:
a. Excellent knowledge of the main methods of historical-economic analysis of careers and work contexts, particularly in the cultural and artistic fields;
b. Excellent knowledge of the design, creation and management of complex databases;
c. Knowledge of the main research methodologies derived from Gender and Feminist Studies;
d. Previous experience in the application of Network Analysis, particularly in the social and/or artistic-cultural field;
e. Previous experience and ability to work in inter- and multidisciplinary teams.
