Francesca Coccolo

PhD student at the IMT School since November 2017, I got my Master's degree in Economics and Management of Arts at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice back in 2015.

My research goals consist in analysing and interpreting transnational policies affecting public and private cultural heritage. I am particularly keen to investigate cultural heritage in its capacity as linchpin of both national and global identities. This I mainly do by focusing on international negotiations and treaties that follow armed conflicts, and their consequences on movable and immovable cultural property.

Current research project: Italian claims for and retrievals of works of art in Vienna after WW1 (1919-1920 ca.)
