We are glad to announce that the 1st edition of BrainHack Lucca will take place at IMT on the 4th - 7th of December 2023
The purpose of Brainhack is to bridge the data science and neuroscience research communities to advance the progress of brain science research.
This collaborative workshop brings researchers from across the globe and different disciplines to work together on innovative projects related to neuroscience combining elements of Hackathons, with a variety of educational activities. Year after year, global Brainhack events have brought together researchers to participate in open collaboration and regional Brainhack events keep the momentum going throughout the year.
This workshop brings researchers from across the globe and different disciplines to collaborate on innovative projects related to neuroscience, combining elements of hackathons, with a variety of educational activities. In this edition of BrainHack Lucca, this aim will be achieved through a first day of training, in which there will be introductory courses on open computational neuroscience tools (e.g. Python programming, GitHub, BIDS...), and three consecutive days of collaborative workshops, or hacking sessions.
How does it work?
Participants can get involved in BHL either as project leaders or as collaborators. Project leaders can propose a project filling a form on our GitHub page, in which they should describe the project, its aim and the required skills to participate. When proposing a project, the project leader should consider that the main aim is to reach some milestones during the few days of hacking. Collaborators will split according to their field of interest on the different proposed projects. The aim of collaborators is to contribute to a project and to learn from the experience of project leaders and other collaborators. One of the most important aims for all participants is to extend their interpersonal network.
Who can participate?
Everyone who has a strong interest in neuroscience, computer science, methodological applications, research and development! Academic affiliates, as well as employees of private companies, are invited to participate in this event. You can participate as a collaborator or as a project leader independently of your educational qualification.
This year, BrainHack Lucca will be twinned with the Marseille local event, with whom we will share training sessions and, on participants' will, hacking sessions.
