Armando is an Associate Professor of Economics at IMT Lucca, working for the research unit AXES (Analysis of Complex Economic Systems). He obtained his PhD at the Bocconi University, where he also graduated in international economics.
Armando has been teaching Econometrics II, Applied Econometrics I, Analytics and Data Science in Economics and Management II, Empirical Methods for Economics and Management for PhD students in recent years.
Previously, he was an Assistant Professor under the Marie Curie Programme for Experienced Researchers, at the University of Warsaw, working on an EU funded project aimed at implementing quantitative economics in the WTO dispute settlement system.
Armando has been an Economic Affairs consultant for the United Nations (UNCTAD) in Geneva. He has been a visiting researcher at the OECD, at the Bank of France and at the CEPII (Centre d’Études Prospectives et d’Informations Internationales) in Paris. He has worked as an associate researcher for FEEM (Fondazione ENI Enrico Mattei) on some international projects. He has been a visiting lecturer in 'Economics of Globalization' at the University of Sciences Po in Paris.
His main fields of study are: international economics, industrial organization, microeconometrics, health economics, trade policy, economics of natural resources, and transition economies.
