Pietro Saggese is an Assistant Professor since November 2023 at IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, where he also obtained his PhD in Economics and Data Science in July 2021.
From 2021 until 2023, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Complexity Science Hub Vienna and the Austrian Institute of Technology.
His research focuses on the economics of blockchain technology, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), and the impact of digital assets on the financial system. He combines data science, cryptoasset analytics, and economic analysis to study the structure, risks, and governance of digital financial ecosystems and their interactions with traditional finance.
