The previous doctoral Program “Institutions, Markets, and Technologies” with its four tracks has been reorganized into two doctoral Programs, “Systems Science” and “Cognitive and Cultural Systems”, which include the unaltered “Computer Science and Systems Engineering (CSSE)” and “Economics, Networks and Business Analytics (ENBA)” Tracks and “Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage (AMCH)” and “Cognitive, Computational and Social Neurosciences (CCSN)” Tracks, respectively. For the 2017/18 Academic Year, 36 positions will be offered as previous foreseen, which will be equally divided between the two new Programs.
To improve the disciplinary coherence of the educational offering, and because the new reformulation offers a more direct link to the academia and the job market, the IMT School has decided to reorganize the Program into two distinct Programs: “Systems Science” and “Cognitive and Cultural Systems”.
The PhD program is subject to accreditation by the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research Systems (ANVUR) per Italian law. Stemming from ANVUR’s initial evaluation of the Program, a new division into two doctoral Programs – which maintain the original four Tracks as illustrated above - was carried out by the School. ANVUR communicated the accreditation of the two new Programs to the IMT School on August 3rd.
The new deadline is Wednesday, August 9th, 2017 at 3 pm CEST.

No, you don’t need to resubmit your application, as each track you applied for was automatically “moved” under its new corresponding PhD Program.
For example, if you applied for the “ENBA” Track, originally under the “Institutions, Markets and Technologies” PhD Program, your application now is for the “ENBA” Track under the “Systems Science” PhD Program.
No, you don’t need to change anything, as your application was specific to a Track not a PhD Program; the Track(s) that you applied for was/were automatically filed under one of the two new PhD Programs.
While all courses will remain the same and the four tracks will communicate with the same Professors and Research Units as was foreseen with the single PhD Program, the most visible change for PhD students will be the title of their PhD degree that they will be awarded after successfully defending their theses:
PhD in “Institutions, Markets and Technologies” – track in “track name”
PhD in “Systems Science” – track in “track name” or
PhD in “Cognitive and Cultural Systems” – track in “track name”
