Activity:

Seminars on recent trends in the field of computational mechanics, with special focus on complex cutting edge interface physical problems and numerical methods for their solution based on parallel and high performance computing techniques. Contributions to research and PhD education programmes at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca. Discussion on possible research topics for future cooperation

Profile:

Researcher in computational mechanics with experience in computational methods for contact and interface mechanics with special attention to complex physical interface phenomena (e.g. wear, lubrication, fluid-structure interaction, poro-elasticity, thermomechanics), parallel and high-performance computing, advanced finite element discretization methods like isogeometric analysis, biomedical and cardiovascular applications of computational mechanics

Formal requirements:

A PhD in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, computational mechanics, or in related areas. Candidates must have an excellent record of high-impact international publications and previous international collaborations. Candidates should demonstrate experience in computational mechanics, especially in the research associated to the finite element method

Specific requirements:

Researcher in computational mechanics with expertise in the development of finite element-based computational techniques for the solution of interface mechanical problems
