Uncertainty, overconfidence and intellectual humility

Profile:

One junior post-doc researcher (research fellowship holder) in philosophy of science or moral philosophy, with familiarity with current research on rationality, uncertainty and meta-cognition in the fields of formal epistemology, cognitive science, psychology or neuroscience.

Activity:

The research fellow will join the team of the project "Boosting intellectual humility to improve science communication" and the MInD research group of the MoMiLab research unit of the IMT School. The research fellow will help in the following activities: literature review on intellectual humility in philosophy and psychology; analysis of the notion of overconfidence in relation to intelelctual humility and truth approximation; paper writing. 

Formal requirements:

• master’s degree (Laurea Magistrale) in Philosophy, Pyschology, Neuroscience, Human Sciences or Cognitive Science or equivalent qualification obtained abroad;
• good command of English (spoken and written).

6 months
