La candidata/il candidato sarà inquadrata/o come assegnista di ricerca nel contesto delle attività previste dal PRIN 2022 “The artisanal production of ancient Capua” (codice UGOV: P0318; Codice MUR: 2022WB9W8P; CUP: D53D23023150006).. La ricerca si svolgerà presso l'Unità di ricerca LYNX (Center for the Interdisciplinary Analysis of Images, Contexts, Cultural Heritage), l’Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” e il Sito e Museo Archeologico dell’Antica Capua. L'assegnista dovrà dimostrare ottime conoscenze nel campo degli studi sulla cultura materiale e le produzioni di età romana, in particolare per quanto riguarda la bronzistica di età repubblicana e imperiale. L'assegnista dovrà dimostrare ottime conoscenze dei metodi di accesso, ricognizione e analisi bibliografiche e archivistiche finalizzate allo studio della cultura materiale di età romana. L'assegnista dovrà inoltre dimostrare ottima capacità di lavorare in sinergia con specialisti di altri ambiti nel settore del patrimonio culturale. L'assegnista dovrà dimostrare ottima conoscenza della lingua inglese sia parlata sia scritta e della lingua tedesca, soprattutto scritta.

The candidate will be employed as a research fellow in the context of the activities envisaged in the PPRIN 2022 “The artisanal production of ancient Capua” (codice UGOV: P0318; Codice MUR: 2022WB9W8P; CUP: D53D23023150006). The research will be carried out at the premises of the Research Unit LYNX (Center for the Interdisciplinary Analysis of Images, Contexts, Cultural Heritage), the Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” and the Archaeological Site of Ancient Capua. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the scientific discussion concerning Roman handicraft and material culture, with a specific focus on bronze production in the Republican and Imperial periods. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the methods to access, survey and analyse bibliographic and archival resources, with a specific focus on Roman material culture. The research fellow will also have to demonstrate an excellent ability to collaborate with specialists from other disciplines in the field of cultural heritage. The research fellow will have to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of English, spoken and written, and German, especially written.

Activity:

L’assegnista procederà ad una ricognizione della produzione bronzistica di età romana, in particolare per quanto riguarda le produzioni assegnabili all’antica Capua, la loro diffusione nel mondo romano, le loro caratteristiche tecniche e iconografiche. Procederà ad una ricognizione delle attribuizioni alla produzione bronzistica capuana di manuffatti oggi conservati nei musei italiani ed europei. L’assegnista dovrà produrre una bibliografia ragionata che illutri lo stato degli studi sulla produzione e la diffusione della produzione bronzistica capuana nel mondo romano, oltre alle sue caratteristiche tecniche e iconografiche, potrà essere coinvolto nelle attività seminariali della RU LYNX.

The successful candidate will thoroughly survey Roman bronze productions, focusing mainly on bronze objects traditionally assigned to ancient Capua, their distribution in the Roman world, and their technical and iconographic features. The researcher will thoroughly survey bronze objects traditionally referred to as Capuan productions, and currently stored in Italian and European museums and will produce a thorough annotated bibliography to illustrate the state of the art regarding Capuan bronze productions, their distribution in the Roman world, and their technical and iconographic features. The appointed fellow could participate in the LYNX research activities.

Formal requirements:

• Master degree in: Acheology, cultural heritage or related fields; 
• Excellent knowledge of both spoken and written English;

Specific requirements:

* Previous research experience in studying Greek and Roman material culture.
