Biography
Fabian Konopka is a Ph.D. Student in Cultural Systems, part of the Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage track in the LYNX Research Unit at IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca. He holds a B.Sc in Landscape Architecture at the Technical University of Munich and a M.A in Urban Studies at the University of Basel. He worked for various offices and research units in landscape architecture, architecture and urban studies and was editor in chief for a research journal on landscape architecture and planning. His research is grounded in the materialization of social processes in space, particularly in migration and border studies. In his PhD project, he analyses Italy's territorial history of fascist internal colonization and its persistence in contemporary regimes of migrant labor exploitation.
