The IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca is a Public University School for Higher Education and Research with a special statute that focuses on the analysis of economic, societal, technological, and cultural systems. IMT School promotes full integration of research and education and is well known for the quality and innovativeness of its research and doctoral programs. Its interdisciplinary nature is characterized by the complementarity between methodologies drawn from economics, engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, physics, archaeology, art history, historical, philosophical, and juridical disciplines, and the analysis and management of cultural heritage. Open position for Assistant Professor – Tenure track (Ricercatore a tempo determinato l. 240/2010, art 24, c.3 lett. B)

Ideal candidates are accomplished researchers with a strong methodological background in one or more of the following: computational machine learning, numerical analysis, control and optimization, network analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research and teaching postgraduate courses on topics related to the above subjects, and to interact with the different areas of the School, in particular on frontier cross-disciplinary research problems of computational mechanics, economics, industrial automation and in general on specification, analysis and management of systems.
Social, Affective and Economic Decision Making.
Ideal candidates are experienced scholars, with a recognized potential to carry out research and teaching in one or more of the following areas: neuroscience, cognitive psychology, brain network analysis applied to decision making processes, preferences, emotions and representation of emotions, also in relation to management, economics and marketing. Candidates must be open to interacting with the different areas of the School, in particular on frontier cross-disciplinary research problems of decision making in economics, analysis and management of systems.
Statistics, Econometrics & Machine Learning.
Ideal candidates should have a track record of internationally recognized research in statistics, econometrics, or machine learning together with a strong background in economics. We are looking for outstanding candidates with an excellent track record of applying advanced statistical methods to analyze economic systems. The position is part of the School's initiative to broaden its activities in data science, to develop applications in different domains and to foster its interdisciplinary development.
Candidates must have an excellent record of publications and a proven record of achievements, a clear interest/potential to promote and lead research activities, a specific experience in teaching at the postgraduate level, and supervising doctoral students.

Tenure-track Assistant Professors (RTD-B) will be employed for three years, during which they are required to secure the Italian national scientific habilitation (ASN) from an independent national evaluation committee in order to obtain tenure at the associate professor level. Applicants to ASN are evaluated based on various indicators of scientific quality and leadership such as bibliometrics, research grants, invited talks, and best-paper awards.

Net income may vary depending on income taxes, local taxes, retirement plan, health care deduction and tax exemptions.
