CNSU - National Council of University Students

Elections of the National Council of University Students (CNSU) on May 14thand 15th, 2019

The Ministry Ordinance n. 66 dated January 31st, 2019 calls for the elections for the following members of the National Council of University Students:

a) 28 members elected among the students enrolled, in the 2018-2019 academic year, in undergraduate courses, master’s courses, single-cycle master's degree courses;

b) 1 member elected among the students enrolled in specialization courses;

c) 1 member elected among the students enrolled in PhD courses.

Election days: May 14th and 15th, 2019

Poll opening and closing times:

  • May 14th, 2019 from 9am to 7pm
  • May 15th, 2019 from 9am to 2pm

Active voters: Students, who are regularly enrolled in the 2018/2019 academic year by May 14th, 2019, have the right to vote.

Passive voters: Students, who are regularly enrolled in the 2018/2019 academic year by April 12th, 2019, have the right to be elected.

The School has published the list of active and passive voters. Students have until March 24th, 2019 to make any objections to the list. The Director will then have an additional 15 days to make the requested changes to the list.

Candidacies:

For the candidacies referred to in points a) and b) (undergraduate courses, master’s courses, single-cycle master's degree courses, specialization courses) please refer to the Ministry Ordinance.

Candidacies referred to in point c) (PhD courses) are individual and may be submitted, by filling out the relevant form, until 1pm on April 12th, 2019 to the PhD and Higher Education Office that will forward them to the Central Electoral Commission.

The Central Electoral Commission draws up the lists of candidates and transmits them to all universities to have them published by May 3rd, 2019. The electoral campaign can than begin according to the procedures set for the election of student representatives in the governing bodies of each university. The electoral campaign must end 24 hours before the start of voting.

The Election Committee will be appointed by May 9th, 2019.
