Discovering IMT

The IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca - Institutions, Markets, Technologies - is a Public University School for Higher Education and Research established in 2005, and one of the seven with a special statute, provided by the Italian university system and recognised by the italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR).

Economics, neuroscience, cultural systems and systems science are its educational and scientific fields of reference. Inter- and multi-disciplinary research and training, relationship with the territory and campus system, the pillars on which its identity is based.

The IMT School integrates cutting-edge teaching and research through PhDs, Master's degree programmes, advanced training courses and Master's degrees. Doctoral students, selected through an open international procedure, receive a scholarship that includes free on-campus housing and canteen service.

In 2021, U-Multirank ranked it among the top five universities in Italy –  and among the top 13 young universities worldwide –  for research, technology transfer and internationalisation.
