Research agreements

Scientific collaboration with Fondazione Toscana Gabriele Monasterio

Abstract: Agreement signed with the Fondazione Toscana Gabriele Monasterio for medical and public health research.
The collaboration aims to strengthen research in neuroscience, biomedicine and bioengineering. The main objective of the collaboration is to create synergies in research and training. The diverse experimental activities developed at the IMT School, from neuroscience to engineering, from information technology to data management and development of networks, will therefore see application in clinical settings, also thanks to the medical facilities and equipment which the Foundation has at its disposal and which will be made available to IMT researchers.The collaboration includes the use of the Stabilimento Ospedaliero di Massa, Ospedale del Cuore "G. Pasquinucci" facilities.

"Quiet time - MEDITATE LUCCA" project

Partner: Istituto Superiore di Istruzione Sandro Pertini (Lucca)

Abstract: Agreement with the "Istituto Superiore di Istruzione Sandro Pertini" in Lucca to evaluate, from a scientific point of view, the effectiveness of the transcendental meditation technique, starting with the project initiated by David Lynch at the same school.
On the one hand, the agreement aims to provide access to the “Quiet Time - Meditate Lucca” program for teaching the Transcendental Meditation technique to students of the “Pertini” Institute and of the IMT School who wish to participate. On the other, it provides for a research project to evaluate the effectiveness of the Transcendental Meditation technique developed by the MoMiLab Research Unit of the IMT School.

Scientific collaboration with Università Campus Biomedico di Roma

Abstract: Scientific collaboration. The collaboration between the IMT School and Università Campus Bio-Medico Roma (UCBM) has been tightened, which sees extensive research in the biomedical, bio-engineering, physical-theoretical, modeling and materials fields. The aim is to strengthen the collaboration in the scientific field and provides for the mutual use of equipment of the two schools, the promotion of public educational activities and joint scholarships for students attending UCBM and the IMT School. The collaboration also includes the promotion of scientific events, workshops, conferences, seminars aimed at promoting common areas of research.

Convention with the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Pisana (University Hospital of Pisa)

Abstract: Convention between the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Pisana and the IMT School for the development and implementation of the “Development and validation of novel methods for the in vivo assessment of distinct patterns of connectivity in the disorders of consciousness” project.
The project will have a duration of three years and was funded through the “Bando Ricerca Finalizzata 2011-2012 Giovani Ricercatori - Area Biomedica” grant in biomedicine. 
The agreement includes several activities within the scope of Prof. Emiliano Ricciardi’s PRIN project (Progetti di Ricerca di Interesse Nazionale, financed by the Italian Health Ministry). Professor Emiliano Ricciardi, who is an Assistant Professor in Psychobiology and Psychophysiology at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, is the “Principal Investigator” of the project.

Abstract: The collaboration agreement, which involves several European Institutions (for instance, several Italian Universities, the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), University of Zurich, the Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research), focuses on the area of financial research. The general objective of this Collaboration Agreement is to contribute more effectively to understanding and resolving scientific issues in the field of financial research and to ensure that discoveries, inventions and creations generated under this Collaboration Agreement are utilized in ways most likely to benefit the public.

Abstract: Cooperation agreement with the Fondazione Volontariato e Partecipazione to expand collaboration between the IMT school, the Foundation and the National Centre for Volunteering. The strengthening of this collaboration is consistent with the objectives of the School, which see IMT qualifying as an internationally recognized research center in the analysis of the Third sector, of the civil economy and of social innovation, and strengthening ties with the socio-economic fabric of the territory.

Agreement for the establishment of a Renaissance center at the Renmin University's Beijing headquarters

Abstract: Collaboration agreement without compensation for research in the field of neuroscience, with special focus on patients with visual impairment, between the IMT School and the Istituto per la Ricerca, la Formazione e la Riabilitazione ETS (I.RI.FO.R.) - Institute of the Italian Union of Blind and Visually Impaired.
The parties intend to collaborate in the spirit of the exchange of technical and scientific knowledge. I.RI.FO.R. provides, among others, support in searching for individuals potentially interested in actively participating in research or in being informed and kept up to date on the research work carried out, as well as the dissemination of the results of such research.
