 Ph.D. Students must meet the highest standards of scholarship.

IMT is a community of scholars engaged in ongoing research, discussion and scholarly exchange. Students are expected to stay on campus.

Ph.D. Students shall attend each educational activity and shall carry out continuous study and research activity within the School. In case of negative evaluation of the PhD Program Scientific Board students might be excluded from the PhD Program.

Ph.D. Students are encouraged to carry out internships, educational and research activities off-campus.

In order to achieve the PhD degree, Ph.D. Students have to successfully prepare and present an oral defense of a doctoral dissertation, which must show that the candidate has achieved technical mastery of his or her field and is capable of doing independent research, and which must enlarge or modify what was previously known or present a significant new interpretation of known materials.
