CNSU Elections 2016

Elections of the National Council of University Students (CNSU) on May 18th and 19th 2016

Every three years the National Council of University Students (CNSU) holds elections to elect its student representatives. The CNSU represents all students enrolled in Italian universities and has a direct interaction with the Ministry of Education regarding the organization and general well-being of the national university system structure. Amongst the 28 student members of the CNSU, 8 may be elected as student representatives to the Italian National University Council (CUN).

Elections will be held this year, and will take place on May 18th and 19th for the following components:

  • 1 member will be elected by students enrolled in specialization courses;
  • 1 member will be elected by students enrolled in PhD courses.

The election procedure will start at 9am and will be suspended at 7pm on May 18th, 2016. The election procedure will start again at 9am and will close at 2pm on May 19th, 2016. The polling station will be in the Meeting Room (IMT ex-Boccherini building in Piazza San Ponziano, ground floor).

The Administrative Director has nominated the following Electoral Commission.

Active and passive voters

Active voters: Students, who are regularly enrolled in the academic year 2015/2016 up to the date of the election, have the right to vote.
Passive voters: Students, who have formalized their enrolment for the academic year 2015/2016 no later than April 18th, 2016, have the right to be elected.

Students have until March 28th (10 days from the date that the list of active and passive voters is published on the electronic notice board) to make any objections to the list of active and passive voters. The Director will then have an additional 15 days to make the requested changes to the list, before it is sent to the local and national electoral Commissions.
