Election of 2 Researchers Representative for the Academic Council

According to bylaws (https://www.imtlucca.it/school/administration/regulations) the Director of the IMT School has called for the election of 2 Researchers Representative for the Academic Council (Consiglio Accademico) to be held on December 18th, 2017, from 9:00 to 17:00. By decree of the director nr. 6482(364).07.12.17, the vote will be EXCLUSIVELY electronic and will not be given the chance to vote in another way.
Instructions for electronic voting will be sent directly to the voters.

According to bylaws (https://www.imtlucca.it/school/administration/regulations) the Director of the IMT School has called for the election of 1 Student Representative for the Executive Council (Consiglio Direttivo), 1 Student Representative for the Academic Council (Consiglio Accademico), 1 Student Representative for the Assessment Board (Nucleo di Valutazione), to be held on December 4th, 2017, from 9:00 to 17:00 in the Meeting Room, located on the ground floor of the Ex-Boccherini building.
All appointments are for two years.

By decree of the director nr. 06187(345).I.22.214.171.124, the vote will be EXCLUSIVELY electronic and will not be given the chance to vote in another way.
To vote please log on to https://www.imtlucca.it/val6/evote/ with your IMT intranet (SIIMT) credentials.
The page can also be accessed outside the School.
After your identification, the election process takes place in two steps:
1. Select the first name and last name of the person in the dedicated record and proceed to the preliminary poll;
2. The system displays the name inserted. To confirm, click on "confirm vote". If you do not wish to confirm, click on "edit" to return to the insert page.
Warning! Once Step 2 is completed, you cannot vote again.
Each vote will be kept separate from the voter's identity and only the voter can see his/her candidate's name by using the "confirmation number".
Once the voting procedure has been completed, we invite you to keep the confirmation number that the application will have generated: it represents a real e-receipt of the vote and is an useful tool to confirm the integrity of the vote in case of subsequent checks.
In the days before the opening of the elections, you can check if your account is enabled by checking the address: https://www.imtlucca.it/val6/evote/
Once you have entered your credentials, the system will show you a message confirming your right to vote next December 4th. Otherwise, an error will be shown.

We remind you that you have to appoint the following representatives:
- 1 Student Representative for the Executive Council (Consiglio Direttivo)
- 1 Student Representative for the Academic Council (Consiglio Accademico)
- 1 Student Representative for the Assessment Board (Nucleo di Valutazione)
Students can only take part in one of the Governing Bodies; no double appointments can be made. In the event of a student was elected to two Governing Bodies, s/he would be forced to choose which one they want to take part in.

Calling all IMT students and alumni: Job Fair 2017

JOBFair - the job meeting involving the 6 Italian "Schools of Excellence" - is coming back at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa for its fourth edition with the participation of more than 40 companies from
many sectors (banking, law firms, insurance, IT, biotechnology, fashion and luxury and much more). Thanks to the support of Alumni networks we have enlarged the list of participants. The updated list is available in the "FAQ" section of the website of the event (www.jobfair2017.santannapisa.it).
The 2017 programme will be held over two days:
On October 25 you will be able to attend company presentations at Scuola Normale Superiore (see the website
www.jobfair2017.santannapisa.it for further information);
On October 26, at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, you will meet companies that accepted your request for an interview.

Call for Papers is now open for the International Workshop "Transfer of Cultural Objects in the Alpe Adria Region in the 20th Century"

The first International Workshop of the HERA project "Transfer of Cultural Objects in the Alpe Adria Region in the 20th Century" (TransCultAA) will take at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca on 18th-19th September 2017.
The workshop will focus on the Jewish-owned cultural property in the Italian Alpe Adria region.
Scholars and researchers (either attached to universities, museums, cultural heritage institutions, authorities, or working independently as freelancers) are invited to submit proposals for a Poster Session and a Paper Session.

"Universita', Europa e le sfide globali" e' il tema del quindicesimo Convegno del CoDAU, l'associazione che riunisce i Direttori Generali delle Universita' italiane, in programma a Palermo dal 28 al 30 settembre.
Quest'anno il CoDAU non si limitera' ad affrontare la realta' italiana ma guardera' all'Europa per migliorare il sistema nazionale e per essere piu' competitivi nel complesso panorama internazionale.
Tra gli interventi previsti quello di Angelo Rughetti, Sottosegretario al Ministero per la Semplificazione e la Pubblica Amministrazione, di Carla Barbati, Presidente CUN, di Andrea Graziosi, Presidente ANVUR, e di Gaetano Manfredi, Presidente CRUI e Rettore dell'Universita' degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.

Please note that interviews for the 2017/18 PhD Programs at the IMT School will be held starting from September 20th 2017. All candidates admitted to the interview will receive an email from the Graduate Education and Student Services Office in order to define the precise time of their interview. New structure of the 2017/18 PhD Program and re-opening of the Call for Applications

Following ANVUR's (the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research Systems) initial evaluation of the IMT School's PhD Program, to improve the disciplinary coherence of the educational offering and to offer a more direct link to both academia and the job market, the School has reorganized the previous PhD Program. For the 2017/18 Academic Year therefore two distinct Programs will be offered: "Systems Science" and "Cognitive and Cultural Systems", under which the unaltered "Computer Science and Systems Engineering (CSSE)" and "Economics, Networks and Business Analytics (ENBA)" Tracks and the "Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage (AMCH)" and "Cognitive, Computational and Social Neurosciences (CCSN)" Tracks are paired and regrouped, respectively.
As a result, the Call for Applications has been re-opened, with a new deadline of August 9th 2017 at 3:00 pm CEST. All new candidates are strongly encouraged to submit their application before the aforementioned deadline.
If you have already submitted your application for the 2017/18 Academic Year, your application is valid and you do not need make any changes to your application materials. Your application will be automatically filed under the new corresponding PhD Program(s).

Protagonisti della conferenza saranno la Open Search Network, importante societa' di headhunting fondata nel 2013; Mathesia, una nuova piattaforma di crowdsourcing dedicata alla matematica applicata e Assicurazioni Generali.
