Mariacristina was born in Lamezia Terme in 1983. She received the Master Degree in Chemical Engineering in October 2006 at the University of Pisa. In May 2010 she got the PhD in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the same University, working on polymer coatings for the in situ drug delivery. From 2009 to 2011 she was assistant professor in Applied Chemistry at the Faculty of Engineering (University of Pisa). From 2010 to 2011 she was post-doctoral researcher at the Dept. of Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry and Materials Science (University of Pisa), working on biomedical devices and myocardial tissue engineering. From 2011 to 2013 she was post-doctoral researcher at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Center for Nanotechnology Innovation @NEST (Scuola Normale Superiore), working in the field of nanomedicine and controlled drug release in the CNS from biodegradable nanocarriers. From 2013 to 2015 she was post-doctoral researcher at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Center for Micro Bio-Robotics @SSSA (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna), working on two-photon polymerization, smart materials and soft robotics. At the present she is a post-doctoral researcher at IMT, MUSAM research unit (Multi-Scale Analysis of Materials), her main research interest is the evaluation of durability and thermo-oxidative degradation in photovoltaic modules. She is author of 24 scientific papers, two patents and several communications at international conferences.
