1 Research Collaborator position
(Deadline February 28th, 2013 12:00 )
Fields
Formal Patterns, Quantitative Model Checking, Adaptive systems, Graph Transformation Systems, Maude.
Activity
The candidate must investigate the use of formal patterns for adaptation (e.g. architectural and communication patterns based Reflective Russian Dolls, composite actors, tuple-space coordinate agents) in the design and specification of collective adaptive systems, and develop mechanisms for their analysis by means of formal, quantitative verification techniques (e.g. statistical model checking). The use of graph-based models, logics and verification techniques is to be preferred, to deal with the inherently graphical structure of patterns.
Formal requirements
Possession of a four or five years degree in a related field. Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
Specific requirements
The candidate must have a strong background on statistical model checking, quantified modal logics, rewriting logic, Maude and graph transformation, witnessed by a discrete publication record in those topics. Familiarity with the field of self-autonomic computing systems, architectural patterns for adaptive systems, and experience in European projects are preferable.
