Anna Pirri Valentini

I’m a Ph.D. student at IMT since November 2016 in Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage.

I received my master degree in law at La Sapienza University in Rome with a thesis on the relationship between copyright/private law and contemporary visual art, with a special focus on artists’ contracts.

Currently, I am working on the legislation concerning the circulation of movable cultural property, trying to highlight the procedures required by these laws and the reasons behind them. This analysis is meant to realise also which are the effects, especially in the art market, of having regulations with different degrees of protectionism.

The main areas of my research are:

1)    Art law

2)    Cultural heritage law

3)    Artists’ rights and the protection of artists as workers
