IMT seeks the continual presence of Visiting Professors to enhance its intellectual community. Visiting Professors come to IMT to carry out their research, supervising and teaching activity within the PhD programs.
IMT currently hosts a selected number of Visiting Professors, who participate in seminars, research and teaching.
Typically Italian visiting professors have a one-year contract for part-time activity at IMT, while foreign visiting professors have a continuous activity of minimum one-month duration.

Chair in International Trade and Related Fields
In Fall 2008, IMT launched a specific call for a Chair in International Trade and related field, financed by SIMEST and the Italian Ministry for Economic Development. The analysis of the application led the Evaluation Committee - composed of Prof. Fabio Pammolli, IMT Director, prof. Gérard Roland, University of California, Berkeley and Prof. John Sutton, London School of Economics − to the appointment of prof. Andrea Vindigni, who is currently collaborating with the School within the Research Area in Economics and Institutional Change.
Winner: Andrea Vindigni, Princeton University.

Activities
Preparation, processing and creation of database for developing a business model under the project TeBe: Feasibility project for development technology market applied to enhancing the cultural heritage.
Requirements
All the below requirements are compulsory on penalty of exclusion.
The selection committee will assess admission requirements, during qualification evaluation, only upon documents provided by the candidate.
Educational qualification University Degree in relevant field (statistics, mathematics, physics, economics, finance), obtained according to the existing law 3 November 1999, n. 509, "Laurea Magistrale" or "Laurea Specialistica", is compulsory. Equivalent foreign degrees will also be considered.
Language knowledge The candidate must prove his/her perfect knowledge of Italian language and his/her excellent knowledge of English language.
Skills
Ability for quantitative analysis of large databases through econometric techniques;
Ability to analyze the properties of empirical distributions through parametric and nonparametric methods;
knowledge of Matlab, SQL and STATA may represent a plus.
Contract, duration and salary range
Duration: 7 months (from June 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010)

Salary range: € 15.000 gross

Selection procedure
The Selection Committee is appointed by the Administrative Director.
The initial selection phase will be an assessment of the above mentioned requirements based on documents provided by the applicants (CV and cover letter), the selection committee will draw a preliminary shortlist of those applicants who will be admitted to the next stage (interview).
Notification of shortlisted candidates will be published on the web site and on the Public notification board of IMT.
