Biography

Dr. Vasileios Karyotis obtained his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece, in June 2004, his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, in August 2005 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NTUA, Greece, in June 2009. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher with the NETMODE lab of NTUA.

He has been awarded a graduate scholarship during 2004-2005 from the Electrical and Systems Engineering department of the University of Pennsylvania, one of two departmental scholarships for graduate studies from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA during 2007-2009 and the Thomaidio award from NTUA for 2006, 2007. He has supervised the senior year project of 9 students in NTUA.

He has served on the Technical Program Committees of ICC 2009/2010 and Globecom 2008/2009 conferences and as a reviewer for more than 30 conferences and journals. His research interests span the areas of decentralized control of wireless networks, malware propagation, topology control, queuing systems, stochastic processes, cross-layer design, resource allocation and social networks. He is a member of the IEEE since 2003 and of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2004.
