Activity

The candidate will collaborate with IMT faculty members and PhD student in conducting research and in organizing research seminars. The position involves research and mentoring of IMT Ph.D. students, and participation in the development of the research activities of the School. The appointed candidate will join IMT research area in Economics, Networks and Business Analytics.

Profile

The successful candidate will apply data science to economics, with an approach  based on data analytics and explorative statistics. The candidate must have distinctive competences in complex network theory with a good record track of publications. The candidate must have a long experience in data wrangling (cleaning, collecting and structuring data in databases). He/she must be fluent in programming data science oriented languages (Python, R, C++) and data visualization. The research domain will be applied economics where the successful candidate will have a record of peer reviewed publications in applied economics and the analysis of socio-economic networks. Machine learning tools and innovative methods in economics will be a plus as well as good data visualization skills.

Formal requirements

The candidate must have a curriculum with a suitable scientific background for carrying out research activity. Ph.D. in Economics, Statistics, Physics or a related field and an excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
