(Deadline June 26th, 2017 12:00 )
Fields

Computational methods; Fracture mechanics; Molecular dynamics; Multiscale methods

Activity

Modelling and computational research in the framework of the activities of the ERC Starting Grant CA2PVM - Multi-field and multi-scale Computational Approach to design and durability of Photovoltaic Modules, with special regard to computational methods for fracture mechanics, integrating continuum mechanics with molecular dynamics using multiscale methods. Contributions to research and PhD education programmes at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca.

Profile

Researcher in computational mechanics with experience in numerical methods for fracture mechanics, in molecular dynamics, and in multiscale computational methods.

Formal requirements

A PhD in computational mechanics, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, or in related areas. Candidates must have an excellent record of high-impact international publications and previous international collaborations. Candidates should demonstrate experience in computational mechanics, expecially in the integration of molecular dynamics with continuum mechanics using multiscale techniques.

Specific requirements

Researcher in computational mechanics, with expertise in methods for the simulation of fracture mechanics across multiple scales, involving molecular dynamics and continuum mechanics.
