Dmytro Karamshuk

I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine on August 7th, 1984. I got my master's degree in computer science at the National University of Ukraine "KPI" in 2007. From 2005 to 2010 I was working in the co-founded software company Stanfy LLC. From 2010 I was a PhD student at IMT Institute for Advanced Studies, Lucca and worked in collaboration with the Institute for Informatics and Telematics of National Research Council (IIT-CNR), Pisa. In 2012 I did a research internship at the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge. I graduated in July 2013. Now I'm a postdoc at King's College London.


I'm studying human mobility and urban dynamics using stochastic and machine-learning models. Particularly, I've been working on analysis of urban mobility from the online location-based social networks; human mobility models for performance analysis of mobile ad-hoc networks; understanding spatial interactions between business activities in the city; mining online location-based services for optimal retail store placement, etc. I also have extensive experience in software engineering, team management and product development.
